Things That Make Me Think of
my Mom
She loved beautiful
stuff. She loves flowers, butterflys, birds, the symphony and ballet. She is a lot of fun and we laugh
a lot when we are together. She was born in Foo Chow, China. You may wonder why she was in China when she was born. It
is because her parents were missionaries there. My mom and I both
wonder how I came out of her because we are so very different. I love water, she is scared to death of it. I lovehorses,
she is scared to death of them. I love motorcycles, she is scared of
them too. She is a member of Rotary, PEO, the Methodist Church and
the Providence Garden Club. My mom is a business woman she ownes and
operates Rahn Flower Creations. She is always traveling to some
forign country her last stop was Sweden, she has been to Egypt
twice.I have only been to the Bahamas, which doesn't seem like an
only to me. PEO
When I asked mom what PEO
was she said, "It is a secret sisterhood. dedicated to education for
women." I never knew what the initials stood for or about the
secrets. I saw a personally involved group of spiritually linked
women. I experienced how these women served as sisters when my mom
died. Immediately there were people available to me. They stayed
with me and helped me find clothes to wear. Essentially they held my
hand until my family arrived. After that they attractively
coordinated the reception that followed mother's memorial service.
Mother used to say, "We are here for each other." I can say they
were not only there for each other they were there for me too. I
can't express how deep my appreciation for this group my mother
loved goes. They were her friends. Mother could not have been happy
with out them. I am grateful for anyone who enriched her quality of
life. Thank you ladies!
